Bhagavad Gita World

Yoga is skill in action

One endowed with a balanced intellect leaves behind both good and bad deeds even in this life. Therefore devote yourself to yoga; yoga is skill in action.

बुद्धियुक्तो जहातीह उभे सुकृतदुष्कृते ।
तस्माद्योगाय युज्यस्व योगः कर्मसु कौशलम् ॥

buddhiyukto jahātīha ubhe sukṛtaduṣkṛte .
tasmādyogāya yujyasva yogaḥ karmasu kauśalam ॥

Skill here means not only being good at a task, but acting in a way that does not bind us. Work done with a calm and clear mind is the most skilful work.

Life lesson: do every task with attention and love; it becomes your spiritual practice.
