Bhagavad Gita World

Pleasure and pain come and go — endure them

Contact of the senses with their objects brings cold and heat, pleasure and pain. They come and go and are not permanent; bear them patiently, O Bharata.

Related Gita verse: Gita 2.14

Just as seasons change, good and difficult days come and go in life. Endurance (titiksha) does not mean giving up; it means keeping one's balance with patience.

Life lesson: hold steady with the thought that this time, too, will pass.
