Shri Krishna Govind Hare Murari (Dhun)

A simple traditional name-chant (dhun) sung together in satsang and kirtan.

Original text

श्री कृष्ण गोविंद हरे मुरारी,
हे नाथ नारायण वासुदेवा ॥

Author: Traditional

This dhun is made only of the Lord's names, so young and old alike can sing it easily.

Meaning: O Shri Krishna, Govinda (who delights the cows and the senses), Hari (remover of sorrow), Murari (enemy of the demon Mura)! O Lord, Narayana, Vasudeva!

In kirtan one person sings the line and everyone repeats it, the rhythm slowly quickening. Chanting the holy names together is regarded as the simplest path of devotion in Kali Yuga.
