Krishnaya Vasudevaya Haraye Paramatmane

A famous prayer verse of the Shrimad Bhagavatam — repeated salutations to Govinda, who destroys the distress of those who bow to Him.

कृष्णाय वासुदेवाय हरये परमात्मने । प्रणतक्लेशनाशाय गोविन्दाय नमो नमः ॥

kṛṣṇāya vāsudevāya haraye paramātmane praṇata-kleśa-nāśāya govindāya namo namaḥ

Meaning: to Krishna, Vasudeva, Hari, the Supreme Soul, who destroys the distress of those who take refuge in Him — to Govinda, salutations again and again.

According to the Shrimad Bhagavatam (Tenth Canto), this prayer was offered by the kings whom Shri Krishna freed from Jarasandha's prison. It is therefore one of the best-loved prayers for asking the Lord's help in difficult times.

It may be recited with faith 3, 11 or 108 times at the end of worship, before sleep, or whenever the mind is troubled.
