How can I worship Krishna at home?

A simple, loving puja at home can include lighting a lamp, offering bhog with a tulsi leaf, aarti and chanting the Lord's name.

Answer

Worshipping Krishna at home does not require an elaborate ceremony. In the Gita the Lord says that when a devotee offers him a leaf, a flower, a fruit or water with love, he accepts it. Here is a simple daily method.

• After bathing, clean the place of worship and bow to the picture of Shri Krishna or to Laddu Gopal.
• Light a lamp with ghee or oil and some incense, and offer flowers.
• For bhog, offer pure sattvic food, fruit, milk or mishri, and always place a tulsi leaf on it, as tulsi is very dear to Krishna.
• Perform aarti, for example "Aarti Kunj Bihari Ki".
• Chant the Hare Krishna mahamantra or "Om Namo Bhagavate Vasudevaya", using a mala if you can.
• At the end, ask forgiveness for any mistakes and share the prasad with the family.

If time is short, simply lighting a lamp, bowing and chanting for a few minutes is enough. Regularity and sincere feeling matter most.
